Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Florida College Academy

Florida College Academy had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 23-point drubbing they dealt Candlelight Christian Academy on Saturday. The Florida College Academy Falcons blew past the Candlelight Christian Academy Flames 40-17. 40 seems to be a good number for the Falcons as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Florida College Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Edwards, who posted eight points. Cheyenne Wilson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

The win (which was Florida College Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Winter Haven Christian the next time they take the court. Florida College Academy will head out to face Winter Haven Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Candlelight Christian Academy will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
