Basketball Game Preview: JW North Huskies vs. Downey Vikings + How To Watch

The JW North Huskies will venture away from home to challenge the Downey Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. JW North has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with ten straight defeats, while Downey will come in with six straight wins.

JW North managed to slip by King the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Huskies were outmatched by the Wolves and fell 81-43. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 934th, while the Wolves are ranked 175th).

Meanwhile, Downey didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Schurr on Monday, but they still walked away with a 72-67 victory.

JW North better keep an eye on Christopher Medina. He was instrumental in Downey's win, going 11-for-21 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds. Medina continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Shane Costello, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 12 points and six boards.

JW North's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Downey, their record now sits at 6-3.

JW North couldn't quite finish off Downey in their previous matchup back in February and fell 44-42. Thankfully for the Huskies, Earl Santos (who went 9-for-15 en route to 22 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
