Basketball Recap: Hebbronville Comes Up Short

Hebbronville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Agua Dulce Longhorns, falling 50-27. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Hebbronville this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 31-18 two weeks ago.

Agua Dulce's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Calvez led the charge by going 6 for 13 on her way to 16 points. What's more, Calvez also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Alyssa Vinton was another key player, putting up eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Hebbronville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Agua Dulce, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Hebbronville has already played their next matchup, a 34-32 loss against Odem on the 7th. As for Agua Dulce, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-31 win against Kaufer on the 10th.
