Basketball Recap: Wahoo Wins High-Profile Game Against Douglas County West

On Saturday, Wahoo faced Douglas County West in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Wahoo Warriors walked away with a 60-51 victory over the Douglas County West Falcon. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.

Wahoo was led to victory by Cody Hesser and Dylan Simons. Hesser went 8 for 9 en route to 22 points and four steals, while Simons dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Simons a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jase Kaminski, who posted three points and three steals.

Douglas County West's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Bergsten, who put up 14 points. Nolan Asher was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Wahoo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Douglas County West, with the loss, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-2.
