Volleyball Recap: Libby Hubert's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Green over Jackson

After flying high against Mogadore on Tuesday, Green came back down to earth. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackson Polar Bears on Thursday. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Polar Bears 25-18 in the first set.

Green started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-14.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Libby Hubert, who had 18 digs and two assists. Hubert is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was McKenna Eckard, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Alece Evanto went supernova For Jackson., getting 30 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Evanto has posted over her last ten matchups.

Green has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Jackson, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
