Basketball Recap: Allendale-Fairfax Takes a Loss

Allendale-Fairfax lost against Denmark-Olar back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Allendale-Fairfax Tigers took a blow against the Denmark-Olar Vikings, falling 66-19. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Vikings are ranked 25th).

Denmark-Olar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kalen Mayes led the charge by putting up 14 points and four steals. Mayes is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aveion Walker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Allendale-Fairfax's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Denmark-Olar, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Allendale-Fairfax will venture away from home to square off against Hardeeville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Denmark-Olar, they will host Royal Live Oaks Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
