Volleyball Recap: Western Reserve Falls Despite Big Games from Graycee Jackson and Makayla Case

If Western Reserve was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Central on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Roughriders came up short against the Monroeville Eagles on Thursday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Roughriders in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

While Western Reserve had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23, 25-23.

Makayla Case and Graycee Jackson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Case had 14 digs, while Jackson had seven digs and one assist.

Monroeville was led to victory by Addison Homan and Madyson Miller. Homan had 27 digs and three assists, while Miller had 14 digs. Homan has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more digs the last 20 times she's played.

Western Reserve's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Monroeville, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.
