Baseball Game Preview: Robinson Knights vs. Riverview Sharks

Robinson and Riverview are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Robinson Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the Riverview Sharks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Robinson had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Zephyrhills.

Samuel Hyman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he also racked up zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyson Boyd, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Collin Rosenberg was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing one base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Riverview had to endure a three-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over Hillsborough on Tuesday.

Robinson took their win against Riverview in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5. Will Robinson repeat their success, or does Riverview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
