Baseball Recap: Barberton Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Perry, Barberton was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Ellet Orangemen.

Jayden Patterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Michael Banks was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Reis Truax, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Barberton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Ellet, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Barberton will be playing at home against Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ellet, they will venture away from home to take on Crestwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
