Football Recap: Preble Shawnee Skates Past Arcanum with Ease

Preble Shawnee strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 49-13 win over the Arcanum Trojans. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-6.

Preble Shawnee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Morton, who rushed for 56 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. What's more, Morton racked up 165.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Preble Shawnee's leading receiver Caleb Blankenship was Morton's top target yet again, picking up 125 receiving yards and two scores, while also punching in one TD on the ground.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Preble Shawnee was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Preble Shawnee didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cooper Shrout and Ian Francis.

Preble Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Arcanum, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
