Baseball Recap: Mission Vista Falls to Valley Center in First Game of Season

Mission Vista had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Valley Center Jaguars by a score of 1-0. Mission Vista was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Valley Center apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

William Voigts was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
