Baseball Recap: Northern Lehigh Comes Up Short

Hamburg hit Northern Lehigh with a five-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell 12-8 to the Hawks. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northern Lehigh got a massive performance out of Parker Schaffer, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Coy Daubert was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Northern Lehigh's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Hamburg, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Northern Lehigh will venture away from home to take on Lehighton at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hamburg, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Schuylkill Valley at 4:00 p.m. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.82 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
