Softball Game Preview: Old Colony RVT Cougars vs. Bourne Canalmen

Old Colony RVT is 0-6 against Bourne since April of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Canalmen at 3:45 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Wednesday. Old Colony RVT came up short against Tri-County RVT, falling 9-0. Old Colony RVT's loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Bourne's offense. They lost 12-0 to Apponequet Regional on Wednesday. The defeat leaves the Canalmen still looking for their first win of the season.

Bourne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michaela Muldoon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Reese Fitzpatrick also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Bourne's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Old Colony RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Bourne's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Old Colony RVT has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. It's a different story for Bourne, though, as they've only averaged .326. Will they be able to contain Old Colony RVT's hitters?
