After a string of three wins, Toombs County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Appling County Pirates. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19.

Toombs County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Appling County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Toombs County will head out to take on Burke County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Appling County, they will square off against Brunswick at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
