MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings

Mater Dei holds on to No. 1 ranking, improves to 7-0 after beating St. John Bosco.

There was one new team in this week's Top 25, see which team made the grade.

Mater Dei  again proved worthy of its No. 1 ranking with another big win, this time over St. John Bosco. The Monarchs are 7-0 in 2017 and off to a 2-0 start in Trinity League play. Amon-Ra St. Brown showed why he's the No. 1 wide receiver in the Class of 2018, hauling in eight receptions for 208 yards and two scores, while adding a 51-yard punt return touchdown.

JT Daniels finished the night with over 300 yards passing, 100-plus yards rushing and had two touchdown passes. The Monarchs front seven was in the Braves' backfield all game. They sacked DJ Uiagalelei seven times, led by Solomon Tuliaupupu and Nathan Logoleo, who combined for four sacks.

American Heritage, DeSoto, Centennial, Allen, and Ben Davis all moved up in this week's Top 25.
