Football Game Preview: Camelback Spartans vs. Central Bobcats + Official Tickets

The Camelback Spartans will face off against the Central Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Camelback knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Central likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Camelback didn't have too much trouble with North as they won 33-14.

Camelback's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Angel Neria, who threw for 245 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 101 yards on only five carries. Neria's passing game has become a key predictor of the Spartans' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-5 otherwise. Christian Lee was another key rusher, rushing for 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Camelback was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 372 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 203 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Central posted their closest victory since November 1, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past Fairfax 20-17. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Stampede recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Camelback's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Central, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Camelback against Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 43-9 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
