Softball Recap: Grandview Takes a Loss

Grandview extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 3-8. They lost 16-2 to the Selah Vikings. If the Greyhounds were looking for revenge after losing 18-4 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Grandview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Calvary Rueda, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Selah, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

On Selah's side, Payton Brown was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That double was Brown's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aspin Grubenhoff, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Selah beat Grandview by a score of 14-3 later that day.
