Recap: Westville Yellowjackets vs. Kiefer Trojans
The Westville Yellowjackets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 60-28 defeat at the hands of Kiefer. Westville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-6.
Kiefer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zack Watson led the charge by rushing for 112 yards and a touchdown. Watson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. Alston Carr also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Westville's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-3 Sperry (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70.4% over those games). As for Kiefer, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Westville will be playing at home against Kansas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kiefer, they will head out on the road to face off against Victory Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Victory Christian is ranked 42nd, while Kiefer is ranked 25th).
