Baseball Recap: Merritt Academy Comes Up Short

If Merritt Academy was riding high fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Fitzgerald on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 16-1 to the New Haven Rockets on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Merritt Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for New Haven, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merritt Academy will head out to square off against Hazel Park at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Haven, they will take on Yale at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
