Central City gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 38-7 victory over the Ord Chanticleers. With the Bison ahead 21-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Central City had a senior duo take command as Parker Zikmund threw for 209 yards and four TDs and Jacob Brazee gained 148 total yards and three touchdowns. Brazee didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Central City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Quinn Jensen and Brazee. Brazee got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Looking ahead, Central City will square off against Cozad on Friday. As for Ord, they will challenge Kearney Catholic on Friday.
