Football Game Preview: Conifer Lobos vs. Glenwood Springs Demons + How To Watch

The Conifer Lobos will take on the Glenwood Springs Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Conifer 8.2, Glenwood Springs 14.6) so any points scored will be well earned.

Conifer fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Eagle Valley on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Devils by a score of 27-24. The loss was the Lobos' first of the season.

Even if they lost, Conifer's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Brandon Knolmayer, Garrett Plomondon, and Solomon Washer, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Eagle Valley's side was Knolmayer, who picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Glenwood Springs was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 21-13 win over George Washington. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Demons.

Glenwood Springs' win came from a few key players Conifer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lamanie Portillo, who rushed for 89 yards on only ten carries. Zack Bollock helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Conifer fell to 3-1. As for Glenwood Springs, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
