Basketball Game Preview: St. John Bosco Academy Patriots vs. Highland Huskies

St. John Bosco Academy is on a five-game streak of home losses also dating back to last season, Highland a six-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The St. John Bosco Academy Patriots will host the Highland Huskies at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

St. John Bosco Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Deary on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. St. John Bosco Academy was outmatched by Deary and fell 50-22.

Meanwhile, Highland came up short against Salmon River on Saturday and fell 47-35.

Despite the defeat, Highland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hailey Click went 8 of 20 on her way to 20 points and seven steals. Click has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alli Mae Moddrell, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

St. John Bosco Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Highland, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

St. John Bosco Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Highland in their previous meeting back in January, winning 42-29. Does St. John Bosco Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Highland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
