The Holmdel Hornets will venture away from home to  face off against the Long Branch Green Wave  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Holmdel is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last three games.
Holmdel will bounce into Tuesday's   match after  beating Freehold Boro, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Hornets blew past the Colonials 6-0 on Monday. Six seems to be a good number for the Hornets as the  team scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.

The result came thanks to  Dylan Zammit's shutout, as he gave up just six  hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Holmdel let  Logan Cardinoza and  Nick Rakoski run wild. Cardinoza  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double, while  Rakoski  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. Those  two  hits gave  Cardinoza a new career-high.  Ethan Barry also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  triple of the season.
Shore Regional hit Long Branch with a seven-run first inning  on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Green Wave came up short against  the Blue Devils, falling  13-3. The  game marked the Green Wave's lowest-scoring  contest so far this season.
  Jaylen Brooks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kellen Campbell, who  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  stolen base.
 Holmdel pushed their record up to 9-4 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Long Branch, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record  this season.
 Holmdel took their  victory against Long Branch  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024 by a conclusive  18-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
