Zachary Ball and Calvin Harper secure win for East Duplin

Recap: East Duplin Panthers vs. South Lenoir Blue Devils

The East Duplin Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past South Lenoir with points to spare, taking the game 76-60. The victory was some much needed relief for East Duplin as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Leading East Duplin to victory were Zachary Ball and Calvin Harper. Ball scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Harper went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 0 assists. That's the first time this season that Ball pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Hughes, who scored eight points.

East Duplin's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for South Lenoir, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Duplin will stay at home for another game and welcome Wallace-Rose Hill at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. Wallace-Rose Hill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Duplin in North Carolina (Wallace-Rose Hill is ranked 306th, while East Duplin is ranked 632nd). As for South Lenoir, they will be playing at home against North Lenoir at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. North Lenoir is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
