Basketball Recap: Portland Comes Up Short

Portland lost against South Portland back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Portland Bulldogs were outmatched by the South Portland Red Riots and fell 58-23. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Red Riots are ranked 20th).

This is the second loss in a row for Portland and nudges their season record down to 4-14. As for South Portland, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Portland won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cheverus at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Portland, they will face off against Gorham at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
