Basketball Recap: Brandon Hunter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Corydon Central

Silver Creek had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Corydon Central Panthers on Tuesday, sneaking past 67-64. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Silver Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Hunter led the charge by going 8-for-13 on his way to 21 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. That's the most points Hunter has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Dane Sprigler, who shot 50% from the field en route to 16 points and six boards.

Silver Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Despite the defeat, Corydon Central had strong showings from Grant Lindemann, who went 9-for-14 to rack up 23 points, and Jack Fessel, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. Lindemann is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last three games he's played. Devon Murphy was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Silver Creek's record now sits at 21-4. As for Corydon Central, their record now sits at 16-7.

Looking ahead, Silver Creek will challenge Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Silver Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.7 points per game this season. Corydon Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
