Softball Game Preview: Our Lady of Mercy Monarchs vs. Batavia Blue Devils

The Our Lady of Mercy Monarchs are taking a road trip to challenge the Batavia Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Our Lady of Mercy didn't have quite enough to beat Central Catholic and fell 11-10. The Monarchs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Batavia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of Honeoye Falls-Lima. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by just one run.

Batavia's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Our Lady of Mercy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Our Lady of Mercy was able to grind out a solid victory over Batavia in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Monarchs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
