Softball Game Preview: Crestwood Red Devils vs. Medina Christian Academy Knights

The Crestwood Red Devils will head out to face off against the Medina Christian Academy Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crestwood has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Crestwood after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 11-6 to Harvey.

Serena Wright made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Medina Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over St. Martin de Porres on Wednesday. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Addison Wolf made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Wolf was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eliza Kinney, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Lydia Young was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Medina Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Martin de Porres only posted an OBP of .467.

Medina Christian Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Crestwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
