Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Northwestern had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Hialeah Thoroughbreds 3-0 on Monday. The Bulls have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thoroughbreds, too.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-12, 25-18.

Newton Myah paced Northwestern's offense, picking up nine kills. Myah got some help from Da'Nay Murray and her 13 assists. Murray was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Northwestern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Central on the 18th. As for Hialeah, they will take on Hialeah Educational Academy at 5:00 p.m. on the 26th.
