Volleyball Recap: Red Rock Central Takes a Loss

Red Rock Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Wabasso Rabbits. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 8, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Red Rock Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-20.

Abby Evans paced Red Rock Central's offense, picking up eight kills. Evans got some help from Natasha Erickson and her 24 assists. Erickson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Red Rock Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Wabasso, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Red Rock Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Southwest Minnesota Christian on the 20th. As for Wabasso, after both having extra time off, they and Canby will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
