Minico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They fell 16-11 to the Jerome Tigers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Akiely Gomez and Jaylie Timmons stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gomez scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Timmons scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Addie Poole also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Minico's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Jerome, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Minico is set to face off against their familiar foe Burley at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Jerome will square off against rival Mountain Home at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Jerome's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Mountain Home has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
