Basketball Recap: Manistique Takes a Loss

Manistique lost against Munising back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Manistique Emeralds took a blow against the Munising Mustangs, falling 77-45. While losing is never fun, the Emeralds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Mustangs are ranked 56th).

This is the second loss in a row for Manistique and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Munising, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Manistique has already played their next matchup (against Pickford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Munising will look to defend their home court on Friday against Newberry at 7:30 p.m. Munising is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Newberry a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
