Baseball Game Preview: Hammond Central Wolves vs. Hammond Morton Governors

The Hammond Central Wolves will challenge the Hammond Morton Governors at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hammond Central came up short against Hebron on Saturday, falling 12-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost four in a row.

Hammond Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Flores, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hammond Morton lost 14-1 to Hobart on Monday.

Hammond Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Hammond Morton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hammond Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hammond Morton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
