Baseball Recap: Ortonville Comes Up Short

Ortonville had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-8 to make it four. They came up short against the Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks, falling 10-0. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 11-2 to the Blackjacks when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Dawson-Boyd, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

For Dawson-Boyd's part, Tygan Long was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Long has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kameron Sather, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ortonville will host Renville County West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dawson-Boyd, they will welcome MACCRAY at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blackjacks are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
