Softball Recap: Orange Lutheran Comes Up Short

Orange Lutheran started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Mater Dei. They fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Monarchs earlier this season, when they won 7-0.

Kai Minor was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run. Sierra Nichols was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Orange Lutheran and nudges their season record down to 22-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Mater Dei, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11-1.

As of now, neither Orange Lutheran nor the Monarchs have any future games scheduled.
