Volleyball Recap: Unity Takes Down Durand-Arkansaw in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Unity had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Durand-Arkansaw Panthers on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Unity took Durand-Arkansaw into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 15-6.

Among those leading the charge was Katelyn Kahler, who had 14 digs and two aces. Those 14 digs gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Unity was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in four consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Durand-Arkansaw lost, don't look at Olivia Mueller. Despite the final result, she had 37 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Chloie Gundersen, who had eight digs and two aces.

Unity's record is now 25-13. As for Durand-Arkansaw, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 17-14.

Unity didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Bloomer on the 25th. Durand-Arkansaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
