Yates came up big in West Craven's 73-53 defeat
While West Craven might've come up empty on Friday, Shalawn Yates wasn't going down without a fight. Yates was dynamite, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Yates and West Craven will head out on the road to square off against SouthWest Edgecombe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Yates hasn't had any trouble running up the score (she's averaged 17.2 per game this season), but it's looking like he'll have his work cut out for him against SouthWest Edgecombe's dominant defense.
