The Davis Darts will challenge the Weber Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Davis has 14 straight wins, Weber has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Davis had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Cyprus on Monday. The Darts blew past the Pirates 15-3. The result was nothing new for the Darts, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Riley Jaques, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and two doubles while going 4-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March. Hadlee Isaacs was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
Davis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cyprus only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Weber scored first but ultimately less than Fremont in their game on Thursday. They lost 17-2 to the Silverwolves.
Weber saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aliya Rhees, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Davis pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Weber, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-19.
Weber's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Davis has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Weber, though, as they've been averaging 13.5 hits. Given Davis' sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.
