Volleyball Recap: Eagle Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Eagle unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Shelley Russets by a score of 2-1 on Friday. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Russets 25-19 in the first set.

Eagle started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Shelley was led to victory by Ashtyn Davis and Josslyn Ivie. Davis had 13 digs, while Ivie had three blocks. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Eagle has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Wood River on the 22nd. As for Shelley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Capital on the 22nd.
