Baseball Recap: Lake Park Comes Up Short

Lake Park was the 5-2 winner over Wheaton-Warrenville South when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lancers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lake Park saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Pruyn, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The Lancers are 3-1 when Pruyn posts two or more stolen bases, but 10-11 otherwise. Max Mohapp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Lake Park's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

While Lake Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
