Preview: Hampton County Hurricanes vs. Bishop England Battling Bishops
The Hampton County Hurricanes will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bishop England Battling Bishops at 7:30 p.m. Hampton County will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Hampton County put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 33-7 margin over Barnwell. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
Zion Dobson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 273 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Dobson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for ten straight games.
Meanwhile, Bishop England earned a 24-12 win over Academic Magnet on Friday. The victory was just what Bishop England needed coming off of a 47-7 defeat in their prior matchup.
Bishop England's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Matthew Ponkow and his three sacks.
Hampton County's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Bishop England, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.
