The Midland Rebels will venture away from home to take on the Lafayette Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Midland got the win against Hathaway by a conclusive 20-4. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Gracie Meyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Ainsley Staffford was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two triples, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Credeur, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Midland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .690. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lafayette made easy work of Highland Baptist Christian on Friday and carried off a 17-2 victory.
Lauren Williams looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Morgan, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Heidi Ewing was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3.
Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Midland, their record is now 9-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Midland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lafayette struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
