Softball Game Preview: California Grizzlies vs. James Logan Colts

The California Grizzlies are taking a road trip to take on the James Logan Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Tuesday, California didn't have quite enough to beat Mountain House and fell 3-2.

Audrey Cotton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, California saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayda Crosby, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, James Logan unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 17-3 to Bishop O'Dowd on Friday.

California was able to grind out a solid win over James Logan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-0. Does California have another victory up their sleeve, or will James Logan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
