Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Millikan

Millikan's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let the Jordan Panthers get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Considering the Rams have won eight games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Owen Waytas looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Millikan got a massive performance out of Shane Wally, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that Wally hit this season. Xavier Kennard was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Millikan pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Jordan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10-1.

Looking ahead, Millikan will be taking part in a tournament against Paso Robles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jordan, they will welcome Harbor Teacher at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
