Baseball Recap: Ellis Takes a Loss

Ellis fell victim to Thomas More Prep-Marian and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Monarchs. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Railroaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ellis saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Byers, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. That stolen base was Byers' first of the season.

Ellis' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Monarchs beat Ellis by a score of 13-4 later that day.
