Concord Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cumberland Christian Crusaders 57-24. The victory continues a trend for the Minutemen in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won four in a row.
Leading Concord Christian Academy to victory were Gabriel Franco and Israel Franco. Gabriel went 8-for-13 en route to 17 points along with five boards and four steals, while Israel posted seven points in addition to seven steals and six assists. Gabriel is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Damier Holley- HS, who shot 83% from the field on his way to 10 points and five rebounds.
Looking ahead, Concord Christian Academy is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Varsity Opponent at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cumberland Christian, they will host Towle Institute at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
