Basketball Recap: Rockwood Rockets vs. Northern Huskies

The Rockwood Rockets lost against the Northern Huskies back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Rockwood received a tough blow as they fell 67-53 to the Huskies. Rockwood has not had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Rockwood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zander Ritenour. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with seven assists and four steals. Ritenour is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Christian Schrock, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Rockwood were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Rockwood dropped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Northern, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Rockwood will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Berlin Brothersvalley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,249 points over their last 16 games. As for Northern, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
