Football Recap: Chatfield Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Chatfield managed to slip by Douglas County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chargers came up short against the Huskies on Thursday, falling 44-20. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.

When it comes to explaining why Chatfield lost, don't look at Cash Williams. Despite the final result, he rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 100 yards and one TD. Williams got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 69 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Emerson Lakra, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Nolan Case continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Douglas County, rushing for 270 yards and four scores while picking up 10.4 yards per carry.

Chatfield now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Douglas County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Chatfield and Douglas County will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Chargers will square off against rival Ralston Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Douglas County is set to challenge their familiar foe Fountain-Fort Carson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
