Soccer Game Preview: Lockhart vs. Leander

Lockhart hasn't had much luck against Leander recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Lockhart will venture away from home to challenge Leander at 7:15 p.m. Lockhart has given up an average of 2.9 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lockhart came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Cedar Park, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Lockhart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while Cedar Park are ranked 44th).

Meanwhile, Leander hasn't lost a match since January 20th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Rouse.

Leander is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-4 record this season. As for Lockhart, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13-3.

Lockhart might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from Leander when the teams last played back in February. Can Lockhart avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
