Softball Recap: Goliad Extends Road Winning Streak to Ten

Goliad came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Poth Pirates with a sharp 10-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-4 back in March.

Goliad's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Poth, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goliad will challenge Karnes City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Badgers at the right time seeing as the Badgers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Poth, they will take on Stockdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
